Review of related literature and Theoretical framework Introduction This chapter is a development and discussion of the context presented in Chapter 1. It is an exploration and exposition of literature on the various factors relating to creation, distribution and consumption of Intellectual Property in the digital age. The chapter will look at literature thematically, analysing the given literature on aspects such as new media and new media technologies influence on the culture of creation, distribution and consumption of media products; Copyright in the digital age, The Political Economy of Digital Intellectual Property as well as The Ethics of Digital Media creation, distribution and consumption. The chapter will provide useful insights which define and clarify the position which this study occupies within the broad conceptual map of the body of knowledge that has been accumulated so far.
